Audioengine A2+
Pros
- Excellent mid and treble frequencies
- Nice size
- USB input
Cons
- Small sound stage
- Weak low frequencies
- Not very loud
Bottom Line
The Audioengine A2+ sound best when one is near to them as they are rather small, making these ideal for smaller rooms.
The Audioengine A2+ computer speakers have received positive reviews for their clean and clear mid and high frequencies, their USB input and their small size, suggesting they don’t take up much space and are perfect for small room listening. However, many users found that they did not deliver much bass, with the low end frequency going only to 65Hz. Users also found that they did not have the largest soundstage due to their small size. They are also said to not be incredibly loud. The Audioengine A2+ seem to sound their best when one is sitting close to them or when in a smaller room, but they do seem to lack a noticeable amount of bass regardless of positioning.

While they'll cost you $50 more, Audioengine A2+ multimedia speakers improve on an already great product (the A2) with slightly better sound when hooked up to your computer via a new USB connection.
